Global Stores: Sales, Marketing & Product Management
Around September 2010 the music merchandising and online retail company I was working for Zambooie, Inc. merged with another local company specializing in websites, fan clubs and other services for Country Music artists called Music City Networks.
Our new division was called MerchMo. My title was changed from “General Manager” of Zambooie.com to “Global Stores / Marketing.” What is in a name, though, really? What my day to day job mainly entails is creating all products and the majority of stores launched in addition to managing all three of our “global store” e-commerce sites – see BigSouthMusic.com (Country Music), HopeSake.com (Charity Brands) and Zambooie.com (Rock Artists).
When we first merged it was my mission to move over 3,000 products from our old system and their old system onto the new and improved custom built back end. This involved the uploading of images, insertion of SKU’s for soundscan, flagging of products, sorting and selecting appropriate categories. Through this process I re-launched all the MCN country artist stores (over 40) and then re-launched another 40+ Zambooie - now MerchMo stores on the new platform. Yes, that was a lot of data entry!
Once all of that was finished we re-launched the 3.0 version of Zambooie.com and then finally in Oct 11 we launched HopeSake.com and finally BigSouthMusic.com.
In addition to my product management duties I also continue to manage a number of sales accounts for clients including Clothe Your Neighbor As Yourself, Gotee Records, Mandisa, Patty Griffin, Relient K and others.
